SSRIs and Birth Defects
The most worrying health problems associated with SSRIs in recent years is its relationship with birth defects in children born to mothers who take these drugs during pregnancy. Babies born of mothers prescribed Zoloft (sertraline general) were six times more likely to be diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension (PPH) that infants born to mothers that have not been prescribed Zoloft during pregnancy. In addition Celexa (citalopram generic) liked coronary birth defects.
