What you should eat if you have hypertension
Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure is a common ailment in adults. Stress, poor diet and lack of exercise are some of the causes of hypertension. dietary management plays an integral role in helping people with hypertension stay as healthy as possible. What you eat is basically who you are and good food contains nutrients your body needs to function normally.
Hypertension is also associated with people who are overweight. In this case, the intake of foods rich in calories should be minimized. For people with average weight, it is best to control caloric intake recommended daily diet is most appropriate for their age, gender and lifestyle.
Food protein-rich foods like meat and poultry must also be restricted. People with hypertension should have 20 grams per day maximum. You can also calculated as 1 gram per 1 kilogram of body weight. To give a more concrete example, if for example your weight is 70 kilograms of 70 grams of protein would be sufficient for one day.
Animal fats are also a no-no. Eat fatty foods are at increased risk for people with hypertension. An increased intake of fatty foods may even lead to atherosclerosis, but not all fats are bad. You may be allowed to eat foods containing vegetable oils, but foods such as fatty liver or yolk.
One way to lower the blood pressure is to have a diet low in sodium and fat low. Two to three grams of sodium per day would suffice. Maintaining high levels of potassium also improve their status. Good sources of potassium include celery, watermelon, tomatoes, bananas and other leafy vegetables. Drink plenty liquids every day. If you have hypertension and edema at the same time, then that's the only time you need to limit their water consumption.
Remember should always have a healthy lifestyle to combat hypertension. Manage your hypertension diet quickly write your meal plan on a daily, weekly or monthly. Smoking and drinking should never be on the list of things to do. With a sufficient monitoring of eating food in a short time can alleviate hypertension and far from living a better and healthier life.
