There were similar problems when we went to Great America in June. I thought that when the drug prevents against sun exposure, which means it is more sensitive to sunlight for burns, etc.
I discovered that my medicine made me a little dizzy when standing in the sun or simply on a hot day. I drank lots of water and took a fresh package that I put on my neck and chest when I'm hot. Also I used lots of sunscreen (SPF 50) every time he would be exposed to the sun. He'll be fine, do not worry about what your mom said, just make sure that is more careful in the future, I have no problems.
