Heart disease or heart disease is the commonly used phrase used by a number of disorders that affect the heart and blood vessels. It can affect the heart muscle, heart vessels, heart tissue, heart valves or blood vessels.
In adults, the most common form of heart disease is coronary artery disease, which is also the most common cause of attacks heart. Other forms of heart disease is hypertensive heart disease, rheumatic heart disease and congenital heart disease.
Hypertensive Heart disease occurs when persistent high blood pressure prevents the heart's pumping function. Due to treatment, high blood pressure, heart tends to work harder, doing that to expand and sometimes not.
Rheumatic heart disease can result from left-over scars rheumatic fever, a condition caused by a strep infection. It usually strikes children between the ages of 5 and 15.
Congenital heart disease present at birth in eight out of every 1,000 live births. Nine thousand deaths each year attributed to these congenital heart abnormalities.
The symptoms of heart disease include chest pain or discomfort, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, shortness of breath or feeling of impending doom. Cardiac Development $32.04 The importance of the developmental approach for experimental and clinical cardiology is indisputable. Clinical-epidemiological studies have clearly shown that the risk factors of serious cardiovascular diseases, such as atherosclerosis and ischemic heart disease, are already present during the early phases of ontogenetic development. Furthermore, congenital cardiovascular malformations remain the single largest cause of infant mortality from congenital defects in industrial countries. It is therefore not surprising that the interest of theoretical and clinical cardiologists in the developmental approach keeps increasing. Advances in molecular biology accelerated this trend substantially. This book is based on contributions presented at the international symposium The Developing Heart in Prague in May 2000. It is our contention that the biological, electrophysiological, morphological, functional, biochemical and functional approaches employed by distinguished scientists worldwide will provide the reader with a global picture for changes characterizing the developing heart.
