Valerian - still lacks FDA approval for treatment of hypertension

Valerian is the generic name for a grass root used as a sedative to treat insomnia and anxiety disorder. For a thousand years, valerian root has been used as a tranquilizer to calm the people, helping to relieve stress.

Biochemists of valerian are similar to modern tranquilizers and mood elevators being prescribed by physicians in the treatment of anxiety and stress. Based on the results of medical studies in humans and animals, found strong support used as a treatment for high blood pressure.

As the dose of herbs is concerned, the absence of standard drugs poses some problems because their content may vary with the way it is prepared. However, the paper suggested the use of valerian plant material should not exceed by standardized extract - 30 to 400 mg; tincture - 1 / 2 to 1 tsp, 300 to 500 mg in capsules or tablets and 1 to 2 cups if taken as tea. In addition, in preparation such as tea, it is suggested that the pot is kept covered to prevent oil from escaping.

As a herbal medicine, there is no prescribed standards in its manufacturing, so the presence of pollutants or other drugs against the interaction is possible.

Despite the use of valerian has scientific support, that can cause urination excessive and should not be used by pregnant women, people who operate the machines, and those under medication antidepressant drugs.

Despite the scientific evidence, the use of valerian has conducted an assessment of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding its efficacy, safety and purity.

The most common side effects are difficulty breathing, nervousness, headache, insomnia, rash, dilated, and irregular heartbeat heart. If any of these symptoms are experienced when taking valerian, the user is advised to discontinue its use and seek medical intervention.

On the other hand, the roots of valerian have no side effects considered most common synthetic sedative medications, such as addiction and disease morning or hangover. Some doctors prescribe even the roots of valerian to relieve symptoms of withdrawal from sedative drugs are usually recommended to take daily to be effective rather than "where necessary".

Today, valerian is prescribed primarily to treat people with of sleep or insomnia, anxiety disorders, muscle spasms, menstrual cramps or cramps.

As herbal medicine, consult a herbalist doctor as a precaution to be observed before taking valerian, especially if you make a transition from the use of a sedative medication today. In addition, you your doctor must first seek approval, if you are thinking about the roots of valerian as a treatment for high blood pressure.

Hypertension Symptoms You Should Know About

The symptoms range greatly for the dangerous condition called high blood pressure, and can only be verified through a check of your blood pressure. Luckily there are symptoms that can help you diagnose it, as well as certain factors that can attribute to the disease. If you happen to notice any of the symptoms we discuss in this article for hypertension be sure to talk to your doctor.

Do you suffer from nosebleeds more often than the average person, then you may find you have high blood pressure.

Those with frequent nose bleeds could have other problems that are not related to their blood pressure, but it is still worth checking into. Since nosebleeds are common for everyone, you should only be concerned if it happens on a regular basis. Nosebleeds related to high blood pressure are more common in elderly patients, but they can happen to anyone with severe hypertension. If high blood pressure is causing nosebleeds, this can be a dangerous sign that your blood pressure is extremely high and needs to be controlled.

If you have a stressful life and are easily made angry or frustrated, you may be at risk for high blood pressure even if you have no other obvious symptoms. It has been found that people who fit the Type A personality profile are more likely than average to have high blood pressure, as well as heart disease. Stress, then, can be considered one of the early warning signs of high blood pressure. It is possible to control your stress and to learn to relax, even if your job or lifestyle are stressful. Prevent your blood pressure from rising this way.

Serious problems can develop from high blood pressure including heart attacks or other heart ailments. Immediate medical attention is required if you have shortness of breath or chest pains which are both symptoms of heart problems.

Do you easily run out of breath or have other breathing problems, this could be a sign of a heart related disorder. Serious consequences of high blood pressure can be avoided if you catch the high blood pressure at an early stage. Catch heart disease early through the common warning sign of high blood pressure.

To sum up, if you ignore your high blood pressure, it is likely that you will develop life threatening health issues. It is easy enough to treat if caught early, so be sure to check your blood pressure often. High blood pressure is one of the leading causes of health problems worldwide, and hopefully these symptoms will help you detect it early.
